WampServer

Has anyone installed and configured Jabber Chat on their WampServer that could give me some instructions? I am running WampServer with PHPBB3 on Windows XP Professional. The PHPBB3 has a setup for Jabber, but it does not specify whether I can use my WampServer to run that too or if I need a seperate server. Does anyone know? Thanks!

I want to run an PHPBB3 discussion board with WampServer, and my ISP wants to charge me an additional $50 per month on top of my DSL fee just to assign a static IP Address to my DSL dry loop line! What other IP re-direct services are out there besides no-ip? That is ridiculous!

Ok. I contacted Zone Alarm. Since I am using the free version, it does not allow me to control traffic through specific ports. This means going back to Windows firewall that will. Has anyone compared what you lose by using Windows firewall over Zone Alarm? Zone Alarm seems to be better. Thanks! I don't believe I have addressed the firewall ports correctly. Also, I think 1&1 Domain is confused about me re-directing to my server with the IP address A Record. They said I should not have to do that for my web site to be accessed because it will just show up with their name servers... I am not sure what they mean... Do you?

Got VH working properly, but now Dolphin Community page does not display correctly. One problem solved, one problem gained. Changed back what I did to get the VH to go right to my Dolphin community, and the display problem is solved. I have followed every example of setting up VH, and I am not missing any steps... My subdomain on 1&1 was not set up correctly... I have to wait about 24 hours not for it to be registered... I hope that fixes my problems that I have been causing! Thank you again for everyones help! I am still learning, and want to learn correctly!

I will check my subdomain record A... May be I named it wrong. For 1&1, they give you one domain and 5 subdomains for the price. It would be set up the same way right? I reconfigured VH and C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts as directed and double checked set up to forward to my IP address (A record), it still goes to the WampServer main page, and I have to click on my Dolphin project folder to go into my Dolphin community. There are no errors in any logs. Am I just going to have to live with this? Thanks!

I did find an error in my VH setup, and when I fixed it I am back to being able to path to my WampServer main page, and then only being able to access my Dolphin Community through the Dolphin project folder on the main page...
