fex, Start wamp but do not open your browser. To find out if the basic services are started... Go to Start > Run > Type in :services.msc Scroll down the list, you should see wampapache and wampmsqld with a status of 'Started' Note: even if you disable nod32 using the tray icon the program still runs in the background. I know this is little consolation, but my users with FileZilla had to switch to ws-Ftp due to the permission problem you mention. Once they did switch they were able to change permissions successfully. This was not a server or WAMP problem. (There seems to be an access bug in FileZilla) Hope this helps, Paul
