Well, enough of this. I'm having fun using WAMP from Downloaded it, installed it. Works right out of the box. PhpMyAdmin opened first time out. Has documentation with it to. I'm going to have FUN now.

Yes, I reviewed your instructions very carefully, and repeated them three times to make sure that I had not skipped a step. I tried it with the services left started, with the services stopped, and always restarted the services afterwards. I just tried it again (after my computer's been shut down and restarted) and got a little further. I did get to the Welcome to phpMyAdmin screen with the login

I went to your personal website and followed your instructions for setting the password, and am still getting the above error. Any further suggestions?

5. Services won't stay started
I've just installed wamp server 2 and when I click Start All Services, they start for a moment then stop. In Event Viewer is the error: The wampapache service terminated with service-specific error 1 (0x1). Any suggestions? thanks. Update: I figured it out for myself... by looking at other websites. Uninstalling McAfee corrected this problem.
