I figured it out last night. One time after I switched back to php5 it asked me to change my mysql password so that it was compatible with older versions. That did the trick.

Whenever I make Wamp run in php4 mode, I can't access the database using the username I made. It is possible to access it with the root user, but the seperate one I made does not work. (I made the config.inc.php for phpmyadmin use http instead of config as well for the password. As I don't want anyone to be able to just walk in and delete my databases ) And before you ask, yes, I am typing in
