The WAMP FAQ says that it's easy to add new releases from the home sites for Apache, MySQL and PHP. Maybe someone could list the process in more detail for us newbies. I've seen three proposed solutions to the problem in this thread: 1. Remove Windows Defender. (This seemed to work for me.) 2. Set the wampmysqld service properties to “Log On” - “Allow service to interact with the desktop.”. 3. Add "thread_stack = 64K" to my.ini. Are these all related somehow that I don't see? Maybe you inadvertantly omitted it from your (too long) post, but I don't see where you did the inserts after making up the insert strings. With something like: $result1 = @mysql_query($Insert1); and $result2 = @mysql_query($Insert2);

So many people have this problem that it should be easy to solve by someone who is knowledgable. It's happening to me also with 2.0f. And I've removed and reinstalled many times. I've deleted the entire directory. I've downloaded 5.1.30 from the MySQL site and installed that over top. I've deleted the data files in Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MySQL. Etc.
