I am running the latest wampserver version out with the core php, mysql and apache that is installed with it. I can't ever seem to get a db in sql format in localhost phpmyadmin to import at all. I always get the error above thrown at me. Table Exsist Already, then the import just fails and stops. This happens on a number of tables. Before attempting to import I clear the folder of anyth

ok it is coming up now - wasn't sure what short tags where until I hit the php list of things and saw it near top and clicked it to be on and the site came up. Thanks so much for all the help you both have offered. I sure wouldn't have been able to do it without you or him either way. Thanks so much again, Allen

hey ok, got that done - and the admin part of one of the websites does come up and workable, thus far. but the front end of that same website doesn't come up at all... What comes up is - Black screen with all this junk on it here,... doKeywordSniffing = $BSQ->doKeywordSniffing; $this->trackHits = $BSQ->trackHits; $this->_jllog = new JLLog($BSQ->jllogLevel); } /** * Insert a hit

At the risk of sounding stupid - that was over my head there... Sorry - I have done this just a little before but still learning. I am use to having to change files from public_html to something of localhost - I would love it if I never had to change any file code at all. the DB issue - that is another thing I am finding to be a challenge at this very moment. I see the path in the config

TY very very much, you have been so very helpful. I will give this a try and go from there. Also last question - do I have to change any file structure - like www / to / localhost??? Also I know on the live server I have a public_html folder that is the root of all files. How and what do I need to change in the code of the website files to work with wamp on my vista machine? Then wha

I did notice - that the file structure you gave me leads me to another folder called - mysql5.0.45. So the actual path would be as: c:/wamp/bin/mysql/mysql5.0.45/data - Would this be the db folder? Once I opened this up I did see a data folder in there - would that be where it is stored at - or do I just need to create a folder called Data in the area you directed on the earlier p

Ok I went there and there is no folder called data, could that be because I have yet to create a db at all? Also WAMP stores the db as it is on the server correct? Not in just one large compressed flat file, correct? Thank you for the help as well.. Another thing, do you have to change any code at all to localhost rather than www. or does it fix that for you, stupid question I know but

For some reason after it worked in IE it worked in FireFox as well, I just checked it right before trying your suggestion in IE, but once IE worked, firefox just followed along somehow, Doesn't make sense no - BUT worked anyway and still is working. Now I just need a way to get a database moved over once downloaded - using something I can understand. Phpmyadmin is just a not user friendly pro

I was thinking the same thing as well - I have about 7 sites to work on and need them all in my localhost set up. I use to use a full server package a few months back and had the conf file set up to allow me to just add to it each site and point it correctly and it worked great - I would have though the same of WAMP... The Vitual hosting is very confusing to me - as I am trying to understand

Hey all - In use of other servers - I would just take and create a folder in the correct area of the filing system in the server software - then use NaviCat mySql to dump a database in there. I am looking for something like that with wamp. Where do you create the folder or database at - I don't use phpmyadmin much at all - very confusing for a new person - heck even a more experienced person

Deleted Skype totally from my computer and any Regedit spots as well on it Deleted WAMP - every file, every extension that would relate to php, apache, mysql, xampp, jsas, etc. I might have missed something but really not sure since I am new at this. Have restarted my machine, cleared cache, history and private d

Ok I have gone to task manager and ended McAfee - all I could see, still nothing. Did I need to restart before I checked again? I did restart all services on the server but not the computer. I will uninstall if I have to, just slow connection here and will take some time to redownload. Also no router here at all, aircard, single computer and directly to the internet via the card, and no fir

what would be a sure fire way of seeing what the problem is with this - you tell me and I will do the work on whatever - or a remote connection, I don't care at the moment, I just want this working. I don't really want to go to any other software to be honest after seeing the type of people here as yourself - I want to use WAMP. Please let me know next move - I hope their is one - this has to

The icon is still white and bar far right as well. There has got to be something simple holding this back. This can't be this hard. I couldn't find anything else on Xampp or JSAS at all even after doing direct searches as well. Waiting to see what you have for a next move to be honest. Allen P.S. Please don't drop me - I really want this working badly - I need it working even mor

ok did a full search for any php at all - went through alot of files... Killed Xampp files, JSAS files as well - best I could tell. Then did a search for php.exe - came up with only 3 and those are all with Wamp server. Restarted Wamp and still the same thing is happening. I will keep looking until I hear from you on the next posting to see whatelse I can find that might be causeing this.

I have tried a few other server softwares, but wasn't really sure what I was doing. Neither of them would work - I assumed because of VISTA - but wasn't sure... last night I went to try XAMPP and just wasn't happy with all you had to do to get it to work, rather than just start WAMP which seems much simpler. you tell me what to do and I will do it - 100% please. Allen

Probably right on that one - as I just checked - localhost and of course it did the same thing, just stopped and nothing in source code. Then I checked localhost:8080 - as it was loading - but nothing ever coming up - it gave this html stuff... <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"><html><head><title></title></head><b

Hey again, lol... I just assumed since we changed that conf file - that localhost would just be routed over to 8080 automatically, but then again I am not to smart with this stuff. I did go just now to localhost:8080 and it just kept searching just as it was before. I sure hope you have a next step, lol... THANK YOU!!! waiting to see what you point to next - as I am clueless.
