got ya. noted. that sucks. lol I have SMF installed and I haven't figured out how to send say a 'forgot password' email. but now I will keep this in mind and maybe look for a different solution. Thanks

hello all- using this thread as a reference- i sent the php.ini file to the right specifications for my ISP's smtp server. Now my question is- If I used something like SMF or phpbb3 for my forum, would they in turn use my php settings for emailing out? Like lost passwords, application request, etc? Thanks in advance

i have a write up on this but it is at home on the other machine. But in the there is a path problem you have in the one etc folder. Man I can be more specific. But I wrote down notes on what I had to do. Wait- i found it to gain access to the icons for apache- I had to edit the file located c:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.6\conf\extra\httpd-autoindex.conf I used notepad to do

yeah that is what i thought. I was putting a password on the root user when I believe I hit the wrong radio button and the wrong 'go' button and it deleted my root user. oh well live and learn. lol btw, your guide was nice.

@ntbob- when you installed SMF the first time and finally got it up and running. Did it seem like the default theme was not full. I checked my page outside my localhost and all the links are dead, can't login, and the icons are not there. It almost seems like the theme was not installed correctly. I dunno. on the SMF admin through my localhost I can add/delete/login etc. I even changed

nevermind, I fixed it. luckily it was a fairly new install and I jsut reinstalled the whole wamp. I had a backup of my files that I had edited already. But was there a solution to the problem I had?

first off new to this forum and new to WAMP. Not a complete noob though. First off my wamp icon is white. I can get to the localhost when i try to access phpmyadmin, I get an error #1130 Host 'localhost' cannot connect to this MySQL server. Can i get some help please. Any info you need let me know. On my wamp machine I went to services and changed services wampapache -and- wampmysqld from manual to automatic. Seems to work for me when my machine does a reboot
