the solution seems to be to make changes in wampmanager.tpl. on startup, it looks like wampmanager.tpl is parsed and used to re-initialize wampmanager.ini

nm, figured it out... wampserver adds wampapache and wampmysqld as services when it is installed. once satisfactorily configured, just switch the two above services to automatic startup (rather than manual) and optionally add wampmanager.exe to either a single or all user's startup.

is there an easy way to run wampserver as a windows service? i'm trying to set up a headless server and would like to have wampserver start up when windows boots.
