Tried that. No such program running. Also firewall is off so that doesnt interfere either.

2. mysql service not running
i've recently got a new dell laptop with windows vista home premium 32 bit. i tried running the latest wampserver version on that but the mysql service wont start. apache works fine. on checking the log file it says 'listen() on TCP/IP failed with error 6'. i've tried using xampp as well which leads to the same problem. earlier when i tried an earlier wamp version none of the services were runnin
