Even though the message at the top of the files say "this is overwritten each time don't edit", I went ahead and edited: I searched for *.log and replaced like: wampmanager.ini Type: item; Caption: "PHP error log"; Glyph: 33; Action: run; FileName: "C:/Apps/Baretail/baretailpro.exe"; parameters: "c:/wamp/logs/php_error.log" wampmanager.tp

I have my editor setup to use Textpad editor ="C:/Program Files/TextPad 8/TextPad.exe" but that also opens up when opening a .log file from the app menu. I want to use Baretail (or any other log viewer or use the default windows assigned app) so I can see the scrolling logs and not have to 'refresh' the text editor every time a new log row is inserted.
