After doing some more reading and a little testing, I went ahead and updated everything, starting with the VC++ tool which did indicate I was missing the latest of the packages. I ran everything as administrator. 1. VisualCppRedist_AIO_x86_x64.exe 2. wampserver3_x86_x64_update3.3.1.exe (checked and found that xDebug and Aestan Tray were included.) 3. Installed the Addons - PhpMyAdmin 5.2

Time for an update about this issue. In a nutshell, WampServer was not the problem. I am hoping others will find some this information useful. I did everything as directed but continued to have problems. I then decided to try everything on a different PC. Both met all the requirements and I did the install as administrator. The second PC worked perfectly. This indicates to me that my various

Not sure if I need to start a new post. I had to update my PHP to 8.0.24 to get WordPress to work properly. The version (v 5.0.2) of PHPMyAdmin I currently have installed is not compatible with PHP 8.0.4 so I need to update PHPMyAdmin to 5.2.0 as indicated in this thread. Before I run the PhpMyAdmin 5.2.0 install (wampserver3_x86_x64_phpmyadmin5.2.0.exe) as administrator and verifying my Visual C

I am trying to set up a WordPress site on my PC but haven't been able to. I have done the WP install many times without any issues but am now running into one snag after another. I must be doing something wrong but don't know what that is. I went through my system and followed instructions from this forum to remove all virtual hosts and all WP files, etc. I thought I had everything set up correct

I recently swapped out the hard drive on my PC and before I did, I ran a complete system back up. I did not think to do a specific database backup for my WordPress sites from within PHPMyAdmin. If this topic has already been covered, please point me to the information. I haven't been able to find it. Can I still restore my websites? If so, how? I haven't been able to find any information or in

Answered my own question - after I did the database stuff I edited the httpd-vhosts.conf file and voila - the virtual host is gone. (I exited WAMP) before doing this. When I restarted WAMP Server all was as I'd hoped.

I haven't been on top of my question but thought I should add that the issue was not WampServer but the fact that I used .dev as the extension for my site and neither Chrome nor Firefox like this without using the secure "https". So now I have a new question that I can't find an answer to. (Has to be my search terms???) How do I delete a virtual host? I want to start over and have b

I am relatively new to WAMPServer but followed all the steps in sequence to create a virtual host and install WordPress. Everything worked fine and I enjoyed several hours of playing with WP and setting up a development website. Today, I logged onto my PC, started WAMPServer, and went to my virtual host and received this message - ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. I tried reading through forum posts to

I am running Windows 10 Pro 64bit, WampServer Version 3.1.3 64bit, Apache 4.4.3. PHP 5.6.35, MySQL 5.7.21. I am not using MariDB. WampServer icon is green. I am somewhat new to WAMP and WordPress and set up WampServer on my PC being careful to follow all the prerequisites concerning the different VC++ redistributables, etc. WampServer runs beautifully. I successfully set up localhost and cr
