Hi everyone, Thanks, I must have missed that line. The step I was failing to do was: "Right-click Wampmanager icon -> Wamp settings -> Allow MariaDB" Which is also a fairly obvious thing to do, that I missed. How embarrassing. Hopefully someone finds this in google and doesn't spent quite so embarrassingly long banging their head against a brick wall.

Hello there. It's in the title - I've installed mariaDB and it's not appearing in the tray menu, only Apache, PHP and MYSQL are options. Wamp was working perfectly with MYSQL. I'm using the 32bit version of wamp 3.0.8 on windows 10. I'm using the official installers from the sourceforge. I've tried mariadb 10.1.21, 10.1.20 and 5.5.54, and I can see the folders for each of those in c:
