So there is no way that I can install an SSL cert on WAMP if I use that environment, right?

I installed Zen Cart fine. Can get site up on local server, all services running OK. But...when I want to go to the Admin side I cannot access. I think this is because this is accessed over https by default. If WAMP has a built-in SSL cert, to enable it would be the optimal solution. Otherwise I guess I would have to access it without security, bad for testing purposes. Thanks.

Hi y'all, Actually, this post is in error, because I found the solution later on. The new wampserver 2.0 doesn't react like the old 5. I didn't see the option to start with Windows like the old one, I have to start it manually every time, in spite of having set Apache and mysql to start automatically in the Services Console. Also, later on, I found out that just by clicking on the "pu

Hello, Just installed wampserver 2.0b, removed previous install of wamp 5 as per instructions. Deleted wamp folder, deleted references to wamp in the registry, restarted comp. Wamp server doesn't go online as wamp 5 did. Went to windows services console and changed start mode of wamp services from manual to automatic, restarted comp, no go. Restarted all services, no go. Tested port 80, A

1) Zen Cart 1.3.7 latest. 2) OS: XP service pack 2 32 bits, with all the updates installed. 3) Zen Cart has not been redone for PHP5, it still does not support PHP5, not tested sufficiently, at least that's what the developers say in the Zen Cart forums. Please do a search on them. 4) I KNOW that the add-on works for 1.7.0, just doesn't work for 1.7.1. Did this point get across to you? Please an

Cyberspatium, Your answers are totally irrelevant and off the point. You are not acknowledging that there is a bug in the software. FYI, I not only deleted the install folder but also all references to wamp in the folders or in the registry BEFORE reinstalling. ONLY AFTER THAT I started to post, AFTER HAVING EXHAUSTED all normai troubleshooting procedures. This simple point doesn't seem to get ac

Cyberspatium, Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but you are missing the point. Still not acknowledging the existence of a bug. I did not upgrade anything. It was a clean install of 1.7.0. I NEVER had anything before that. If you think that there isn't a bug, why don't you try it? Install the add-on on 1.7.1 and check if it switches back and forth. Would love to hear what the outcome was. If you are

Let's get the facts. I am testing Zen Cart, a script that can work in PHP5, but is supposed to work in PHP4. I installed it in previous version of WAMP (1.7.0) and then installed PHP4 add-on for that version and never had a problem, it switched back and forth between the two versions of PHP without a glitch. Then I decided to "upgrade" to the latest version and after installing the PHP4

Cyberspatium, Please understand, I am not trying to create any script. Just attempting to switch to PHP4 using the command that the PHP4 add-on creates. There is in fact a bug, because this command no longer works in the latest version. As I said previously, I get disconnected from the database. Please help, as there are many users using wamp for testing purposes, and they are not developers. Why

Thanks for staying with me in this thread, Cyberspatium. Please be aware that I am a newbie and still don't understand php in-depth. Unable to write the scripts you mention. Shouldn't this be done automatically by wamp, once you install the add-on which creates the command? I didn't have any problem using the previous version, but now this feature simply doesn't work. Somebody should alert the de

Hey Cyberspatium, Thanks, I finally got an answer. However, please note that this clarification doesn't solve my problem: why doesn't the latest version work when switching to PHP4? The previous one worked fine, so what changed? There is definitely a bug in this newer version, please notify the author.

Yes, disable IIS in Services or set it to start manually. It uses port 80, same as Apache, read the manual. You need to Test Port 80 (in manual).

After installing add-on and switching to PHP4 my site gets disconnected from database. No way to get it connected, rebooted comp to no avail. When switching back to PHP5 I see in the command prompt something like "starting mysqli", after that the site reconnects This never happened in the previous version of WAMP 1.7.0 Can somebody please explain what is happening now? Thanks.

Hi everybody, First post. I installed 1.7.1 and almost immediately ran into trouble. When switching to php4 it loses connection to the database and the site is inaccessible. This didn't happen in the preceding version 1.7.0. Please look into this. Apparently it switches to mysqli? Looking forward to help on this issue. Thanks.
