Done that already, and I've checked it again just in case, all in order with skype, as I've unchecked the option. I will try to install the 32 bits of wamp as well, unless you're really against it :-)

Ah one thing. My windows is 64bits and therefore I've installed the 64 bits version of wamp. But somewhere in here it says that if I have windows 64bits I have to intall 32 and 64 bits version of WAMP. I'll try that then, can I install the 32 bits after I've installed the 64 bit version?

HI thanks for that. I can't uninstall IIS as I need it I'm afraid. Also, I appreciate what you're saying about switching IIS off and then restart, but I checked it now after a reboot, and IIS, checked from window features (if that's the correct way to check it that it), appears to be still off. I'm just looking on the net and if I go onto the wampmanager, APache, services I can see it's not running, and nothing happens if I try to start it. The event viewer reveals an error with apache, well in fact a number of errors The Apache service named reported the following error: >>> AH00015: Unable to open logs Also, might be interesting to know that if I test port 80 using wamp

HI guys, during the WAMP installation when I got the popup window asking me for the URL address to use as localhost, I left the default value i there, which was localhost. After the installation I switched off IIS, restarted my machine (running window 7) and then I started WAMP, but the web address localhost brings back a 404 error. Do you think that it is better to change the localhost default

HI guys, I'm new to Drupal and I'm trying to install WAMP to get a local installation of Drupal (my machine has windows 7 installed on it).
