I figured it out. I had the box checked that says "Hide extensions for known file types" so it was putting a .txt on the end of my files. Knew it had to be something stupid like that. Thanks for all your help.

Okay I read the manual. The only step I didn't perform is setting up another user other than root. Is that neccessary? Also when I test port 80 I get: "Your port 80 is actually used by: Server: Apache/2.2.4 (Win32) PHP/5.2.1" Is this correct? I checked my php file that I am trying to open and it is not using short tags and still cannot get it to open. Maybe it is a Vista thing. My .ph

I am getting the 404 error running vista. I have the .php file in my www directory and I type and the file name and I get the 404. Any suggestions?
