Incidentally when you say 'unpleasant results' if I launch WAMPServer without the L: drive plugged in, what do you mean? Would I be better to have separate WAMP installs on the desktop and laptop and copy over the current site files and restore the latest database?

Hi, I have WAMP 2.5 installation (32 bit, Apache 2.4.9, PHP 5.5.12, MySQL 5.6.17) on the E: drive of a desktop which is working fine but I would like to use this on my laptop too. Update: There is a missing table myjdb.bak_xgw8u_session so I modified the SQL query in this SQL example and recreated the table. I then get another error detailing other missing tables so I have to assume that the SQL backup did not work correctly. Looks like I might have to start from scratch...

Indeed it does! Couldn't see the wood for the trees... I can now access the virtual host via the virtual host menu (great!) but when I select the project 'MyProject' from Your Projects under localhost it directs to and then cannot find it. This is clearly displaying the directory names in \wamp\www\ so I have tried adding myproject as a ServerAlias but that does not work. I now have the v

Thanks. I followed those instructions yesterday and set up a virtual host along with the menu for wampservermanager.exe. Perhaps I have made an error but I spent a while on it. That is why I was wondering what I have done wrong because I (think) I have followed the post correctly.

Thanks but I have tried that several times. I did see the other thread with this instruction but it does not work. For some reason selecting the virtual host or the project from localhost takes me to . I can manually enter the URL localhost/myproject which works. I am not sure what I have done wrong. I have not had this problem when installing and using WAMP before.
