Hi Otomatic Many thanks - you are quite right. For some unknown reason the wamp/alias directory wasn't there! I don't understand because it has not been deleted or inadvertently moved elsewhere on my PC. Anyhow I restored the alias folder from a backup and I have 'Green' status and the WampServer is working again.

Previously used my installation of WampServer without problem. Everything OK as of 2 weeks ago. 1. Windows 7, 64 bit 2. WampServer 2.5, 64 bit 3. Apache version 2.4.9 4. PHP version 5.5.12 5. SQL version 5.6.17 Today WampServer stops at 'Orange'. I have tried re-starting Services & PC: no difference. Only clue is in PHP error log: [18-Nov-2015 17:36:41 Europe/Paris] PHP W

Solved - thanks for your help. I inspected registry settings but there were none for PHP. However, I searched C: Drive and found an old version of php.ini that hadn't been removed by the uninstallation of old PHP program. Deleted this file and all references to it and I can now start to use the WAMP Server.

Thanks for the information. I did find an old copy of PHP installed on my PC (completely forgotten I used some years ago!) which I removed using the Windows uninstall program. I reinstalled WAMP afterwards but problem still exists. The loaded configuration file is wrong. It is showing as pointing towards C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\php.ini. How do I go about changing this setting?

I have had problems installing WAMP Server before - see Call to undefined function in phpmyadmin. I decided to start over again and uninstalled WAMP and deleted any WAMP directory. For fresh install I tried using the 32-bit version (previously I had installed the 64-bit version. My PC is Windows 7 64-bit). At the end of installation when I click on Finish to start the program I get the er

I repeated a WAMPSERVER installation on my Laptop PC. Same Operating system (Windows 7, 64 bit) and everything is perfect - no error messages. However, Laptop PC is only OK for quick changes. For development I really need to getting WAMP working on my Desktop PC. Copy of .../hosts file:- 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 loca

php_mbstring was already ticked in PHP Extensions list. I tried un-ticking and then re-ticked. Reloaded PHP version, but still get the same error message.

Brand new installation (first time User) of Wamp Server. On 4th installation to get past error messages of missing MSVCR110.dll & php_mbstring.dll, I can now get to WAMPSERVER Homepage OK. However, when I click on phpmyadmin I get error message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding() in C:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin4.1.14\libraries\php-gettext\gettext.inc on line 177.
