Dominique, Thank you for your answer. Although WAMP had nothing to do with the issue I had created for myself, your answer did lead me to a solution, and a better notion of how all of this works together. Best regards, Paul

Hi Everybody, I have completely removed WAMP, cleaned my registry, and installed WAMP 3.1.3 When I click on the green WAMP icon, everything appears to work, but I do see a warning at the bottom of the WAMPSERVER menu, stating: ERROR C:/wamp64 or PHP in path When I click on this warning, a command window opens and refers to : c:\wamp64\bin\php\php5.6.31/php.exe with the message -

Hi Folks, I' have updated to version 3.1.0 but suddenly get stumped trying to move from the "Aestan Tray" to the localhost, the phpMyAdmin, and the Your VirtualHosts choices. The error message is: Could not execute menu item (internal error) Could not execute run actions: The system cannot find the file specified I'm pretty sure I caused this by fooling around. Even so ... wil

Hi Everybody, (Details at bottom) When I use the MySQL Console, any errors will be flagged with a French language comment. I could change the language selection with the following: mysql> SET lc_messages = 'en_US'; However, I do need to enter this with each instance of the MySQL Console use. This is a very workable but short-term "fix". I would like to find the default

Thanks RiggsFolly, for taking time to answer my question. I should have included that information with the first edit that I had made. Yes, I have modified the right hosts file. Same behaviour as before. I can properly access mySql and phpmyadmin, but if I select any of the folders in the "My Projects" menu I'll open a new browser tab displaying the Wampserver Homepage.

I have just installed version 2.5 and need to know which of the install topics left by RiggsFolly I ought to read so that the server works properly. One is "WAMPserver 2.4 What to do after installation" Another is "WAMPserver 2.5 release notes and corrections" Another is "WAMPserver 2.5 Homepage..." I'm confused and don't know which articles I need to rea

Hi everybody, With all of my fooling around, the privilege list on my practise database has far too many names. Good idea to clean that list up. This phpMyAdin is version 4.0.4 wamp is version 2.4-x64 In the phpMyAdmin display, I see a list of the users, with only an "Edit Privileges" option. Nothing I see will allow me to outright delete a user. How do I do

Hi Everybody, I have been experimenting with wampserver for several months... and stupid me... I cannot seem to get beyond using individual parts of the interface. I can develop databases and tables with the "phpMyadmin" part, and I can run simple PHP scripts with the "Projects" part. But... I cannot get any of my really simple PHP scripts to actually work with a ta

Hi folks, I've just made a pretty simple test through wampserver... saved in C:\Wamp\www\PHP_Test\index.php, and opened through the browser window that wampservers' menu calls "localhost". This is the content of the index.php document: <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title></tit

Hi Everybody, I have the phpMyAdmin in my wampserver menu list of course, in the C:\wamp directory. I also have a different phpMyAdmin available through my account with a Web Hosting service. As it stands, neither phpMyAdmin seems to have access to any other databases, save the ones created by that specific phpMyAdmin. Understandable, I would have to tell it a directory path to find and vi

Hi Riggs, I hear you! "You can upgrade it, but you need to know a lot more about a whole bunch of things before you try it." My overall solution to getting wamp to work was to uninstall it.... remove registry entries, and re-install the whole thing from scratch. Amazing! It worked like a charm, so clearly it was my screwing around that got me in trouble. I do need to know a lot

Thanks zdy, I'll get right on it. and, Thanks Riggs, "upgrading had no needed purpose, so I'll switch the directories back again. I still wonder why there are "passwords" or "link supports" anyway, if no one is allowed to change them. Anyway, thanks everyone. It's been a treat -Paul-

Hi Steve, Thank you for the quick response. That folder was from a zipped upgrade I received from Sourceforge. They display the wampserver icon and I thought they were project partners with you. Their upgrade from 3.5.1 to 3.5.7 would be seamless. In any event, I replaced the original phpMyAdmin folder3.5.1 Regards, -Paul-

Hi Everybody, I'm still stumped on this "password" foolishness. I downloaded wampserver some time ago and ran into this issue: Selecting phpMyAdmin from within the localhost browser page tells me "The website requires you to log in" I couldn't possibly be the only person who has asked. b.t.w. the config.inc.php file in c:\wamp\apps\phpmyadmin-3.5.7-english fi

That would be a "No" to both questions. I have not been getting to MySQL, nor set a password on the 'root'. I don't know how to do either. What happens is that I can select the green "W" in the system tray and can access the local host properly. The local host will properly display the Wampserver configuration page. However, if I select phpMyAdmin from the localhost c

Hi Everybody, I've just tried to use phpMyAdmin for the first time. The operation took me to a HTML page in my browser saying: This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage. It requires a log in. How do I fix that? regards, -Paul-

Hi everybody, I have installed the WAMP for a 64-bit Windows (7) o/s, along with what was supposed to be a Microsoft C++ addition. When executing the C++ files, my o/s reported that it was repairing the C++ install (must have been there with a student version of Visual Basic 2010 I have) In any event, when I run Wampserver and clue into the "hidden Icons" and view wampserver, t
