Dear Otomatic, please read carefully, since 5.7, the default engine should be InnoDB, yet WAMP ships with my.ini set to default to MyISAM. This is definetely a WAMP issue. The collation problem is not because "I didn't create my tables correctly" as you assume for god knows what reason. This is about a Wordpress instalation, and wordpress let's the system decide the collation to the

I am using WAMP 3.0.6 with MySQL 5.7.14 (32bit) From what I understand, InnoDB has been the default storage engine since MySQL 5.5.5 and MyISAM is now legacy. Why is MyISAM used as default? My instalation reports: "MyISAM is the default storage engine on this MySQL server." (go to phpmyadmin/Engines and click on InnoDB/MyISAM) How is this possible? I also get some tables create

Hi, I removed MySQL and Apache services, and went ahead to Exit wampserver. I want to uninstall and return to an earlier version. However, clicking Exit has no effect, it keeps on working. In the end, I had to end process wampmanager.exe in Task Manager. Not sure if this is a bug or just something on my machine. More info: Win7, wamp306 x86 Any ideas what is going on?

Steven, I added to an old titled "php not working" because it describes exactly my problem and it is considered good practice to avoid opening a new thread if one already exists. How is that funny to you? I think the mere fact that I posted here means I did google, how else would I have found this. I did supply the code, I mentioned I used testmysql.php that comes with WAMP. I

No solution ? My PHP is still not working, although phpInfo works and the icon is green. I just installed Win7 x64 again, fresh install of x64 WAMP, and the same problem! Something must be wrong, as I get the same thing on 3 computers.

Thank you for answering, but it is not that simple, tags are fine. They are the same scripts I used a month ago and worked, the problem is not with the scripts but with the server I think. Anyone has any ideas? This is incredibly frustrating. It would probably work if I will reinstall Windows but I am trying to avoid that.

My PHP is not working anymore, although it worked perfect a month ago (I did not use it last month). Now, the icon is green, I can open localhost and phpinfo(), but any php file is not executed. I am using the same tools as one month ago when it worked (NotePad++, Chrome, IE, Firefox). I tried unchecking the setting for port 80 in Skype. In the last month, I did install new software, like
