There must be some additional configuration that is needed when using a port other then 80. I have it running on my PC (port 80) and it is fine but when I try to install it on the server running port 1024 it will not install. Thanks Daniel.

Well, thank you guys. That helps me a lot, looks like I have a Wordpress problem then as it doesn't seem to like finding the database. Should I point wordpress to port 3306 to find the DB? Thanks Daniel.

That's what the files tell me. And if I type in localhost:1024 I get the WAMP server page but when I look at my.ini it says it's using port 3306. How can that be. If I change the port in my.ini to 1024 WAMP Server won't load? Thanks Daniel.

Why does the port number in my.ini state port 3306 when I am running WAMP Server on port 1024? Thanks Daniel.

I fixed this one by editing the wampmanager.tpl but I still cannot get Wordpress to find the DB. I know this isn't really a Wordpress forum but I was wondering if anyone knew if this was the correct syntax during Wordpress setup:- localhost: Cheers Dan.

So I have successfully got Apache to work on a different port (1024) but it seems that PHP and SQL are still looking at port 80. How do I change them please anyone? Thanks Dan.

Fixed it, that line shouldn't have a port number after it! Thanks for all your help, by changing that line the service could be started and everything works. BRILLIANT!!!!! Cheers Dan.

Thanks for the replies. OK, I checked the services and the service is there wampapache but it is not started, I tried to start it and it would not. I checked the event viewer and it is complaining about a line in the httpd.conf file at ling 233. Line 233 states:- Allow from all:1024 This is the new port number I have assigned. What can I try next? Thanks Daniel.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I did that and changed the Listen line from 80 to 1024 but when I go to install the apache service through WAMP Server it still complains about port 80 being used and won't install it. Cheers Dan.

OK, I know this topic is all over the internet but I cannot find a solution that works. I have a Windows Server 2003 running IIS on port 80. I just want WAMP server to use a different port but it won't install the Apache service unless port 80 is free. I think this is the key, how do I tell WAMP server to install the Apache service on a different port or even better is it possible to install
