I've never used wamp on windows 8, but I find that for me at least windows 8 is just generally slow.

I just installed wamp today, and it all went smoothly. after installing it said that phpmyadmin was missing the mysqli extension, so I Googled how to fix it, and it worked. After fixing that when I went to phpmyadmin, it gave me a page that said that it is forbidden, so again I googled and fixed it. now it's telling me that webgrind is forbidden, I searched across multiple sites, this one include
