Sure enough, the php_curl-5.4.3-VC9-x64.zip download runs just fine on my system. Sorry, but even after reading carefully this thread and the linked Wikipedia article this is all still clear as mud. My system has an Intel i7 920 CPU. At least informally, I believe this is referred to as a "64 bit processor." My Win 7 system panel screen says that the system type is "64 bit operating system".
