I have an existing instance of WAMP 2.2 32-bit running on a 2008 Server (64-bit). It is an important machine as it's quasi production for an application we are developing (but using in production). MySQL performance compared to a lesser machine running on Ubuntu Linux is slow, in spite of having much beefier hardware on the Windows side. Our server admin looked at tweaking the setup and realiz

We are working in a collaborative environment where several users may be logged in via RDP to the same 2008 server doing different things. It appears that the Aestan tray app is only available to the user that WAMP was installed as. Is there a way for it to be accessible by all users (e.g. stop/start, logs etc...)?

I would like to make my home WAMP server's MySQL instance be exposed to the internet for updates from an external source. I am able to use MySQL Workbench and connect locally (on same box) with localhost or 127.0.0.1. If I use the boxes IP, I can't connect. I'm sure this is a simple security configuration change, just now sure where. My desire is to port forward 3306 on my router to this box.

Steven, this look like a promising approach and fairly easy... Do I have this right...As long as pycron was running, and we had "write" access to the "job file" and we understood the format properly, we could build a web page that displays current jobs, but also allows one to modify them?

Since this is an Intranet app, I would think there could be some sort of daemon that could be run, that could be talked to a web-based front end... Seems like a very common problem... and thought that there would likely be a pre-baked solution...

Am trying to deliver an Intranet reporting application to customers that automatically emails reports to distribution lists. In some cases there maybe many jobs, and scheduling our PHP scripts to execute via the Windows task scheduler seems very cumbersome. It would be much better if there was a way to bake this into our app, especially from a web GUI standpoint. Using an outside cron service is

I set up MySQL and PHP via Windows 2008 IIS Web Platform Installer. The PHP-based app we are using is running like a dog under IIS and would like to switch this over the Apache. We have a whole bunch of stuff wired into the existing MySQL database setup, so would prefer to leave that intact. I'm thinking of disabling IIS. Is there a good way to install WAMP and preserve already set up MySQL?
