WampServer

I installed WAMP server on windows 7 and I am having a lot of trouble . FIrst, I tried pulling over a Joomla site to do production on and that's been overwhelming and is still not working. I then tried a simple script to hit the database and am getting the error below. FYI: I've tried 3 different scripts and have the same result on each. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ERROR********
