Im sorry because I was not able to help you further to solve the problem. But I guess you realized how complicated (not hard, just complicated) was to get that code working properly huh? It took also a lot of time for me to get my code working, and yeah, is some incompability between PHP versions. A lot of functions changed from 4.1 to 5.1 version. Regards!

obviously wamp has it all, BUT we have discussed previously wether wamp is designed to work externally or just internally and your own words were Wamp is NOT designed to work globally. so my guess was to install everything separated because that have worked at the company i worked for before. anyway... my wamp seems to work globally. i mean, we were able to access my images gallery, im able to i

it seems like theres something wrong either at DB location or at the username and password. verify that, also, its gonna be hard to help you without any code. first verify db settings and if problem persists, post your code here and ill see what i can do even though im a rookie.

you guys could also try a .htaccess file that denys access to people outside YOUR IP, you can deny access to everyone outside the local host, or allow everyone, or allow specific IPs or deny access to specific IPs. you can try that. just put the file in your /www folder. heres a (hopefully) useful link: (btw, make sure you have "AccessFileName" and "AllowOverride" set righ

BTW, I know WAMP is designed for local use, development use.. buuut, if Im able to access [189.153.100.196], and the image galleries work. Why doesnt my music browser work? I just want to get an idea of how to fix this by myself.

try installing Apache, MySQL & PHPMyAdmin separately. that should fix your issue. wamp is for development use, we dont want external access because if we do that people could use it for other commercial-greedy-selfish purposes.. hehe Post Edited (12-20-06 19:14)

if the guy says he cannot run PHP, i dont think that will work man. i guess youll have to reformat your PC, there should be a conflict with a previous application/software and it could take you a life to fix it. So, just backup your important data and go Format C:

Hello! Im having trouble with remote access to my server. Situation is that when you access through the IP via a computer *outside my home* network (my server is hosted there, at home) you cannot view properly my scripts. IE: access to [189.153.100.196] and youll see 5 gray squares that function as a menu, click in the middle one and it should display a very friendly file browser interface, buuut

yeah, i mean... we all have to try by ourselves to solve our own issues. in the other hand, when trying to explain an issue to somebody it is very important to be brief and consistent on what you state. i work at hp and most unsolved issues are caused by end users not being able to explain properly whats going on. theres nothing like having a dedicated machinne for an application, specially a we

why are you putting 127.0.0.1/scan/1 as the folder? if youre running wamp by its default settings then you have your web root directory at C:\wamp\www and you have the folder to scan at C:\wamp\www\scan\1... right? try: <?php $dir = '/scan/1'; $files1 = scandir($dir); $files2 = scandir($dir, 1); print_r($files1); echo "<br><br>"; print_r($files2); ?> that should

try renaming C:\wamp\www\index.php to 'anything.php' and that should do the job. Anyway, if you want to password protect that page download SAS.PHP from HOTSCRIPTS.COM.. its a very simple script to password-protect any php document. All you gotta do is put a <?PHP include('sas.php'); ?> on the top of the PHP file and voila, you got password protection. Post Edited (12-19-06 00:49)

Yeah, I get it. It's a pretty clever application. I mean, it works just great. I also have my sites hosted through a WAMP server. It works fine. I don't have a DNS but anyway, you can access through this link to my site (while my computer keeps it's current session): [189.153.100.41] Maybe we should try to expand WAMP purposes so it has an added value. (hell yeah, why not? we want even mor

I tryied with the IP release, IP renew commands and still same issue. any idea?

If Wamp's architecture is to test PHP+MySQL scripts on local machinnes, then I believe that this issue might be solved by installing Apache and MySQL appart. If not, it has to be a Networking issue because your host is able to run everything properly, but when you get an access point to try to get to your host, that's when you get the time-out error. Interesting issue.
