I finally figured out what was causing the problem. When I read that vcredist_x64.exe is required, I downloaded the latest version that I could find. In desperation, I tried installing the version from VC++ 2008 (because that corresponds with VC9 which Apache is compiled under) and now it works. I downloaded the SP1 version which was released in Aug 2008. Please let me know if you find a later v

I also have a similar problem. Fresh install of WinXP x64 Installed Chrome, Firefox, FileZilla and then WampServer2.2a-x64.exe, setting firefox as the browser When I run wampserver.exe, I just get "Aestan Tray Menu has encountered a problem etc" IIS not installed None of the wamp config files has been edited netstat shows no port conflicts There are no errors logged in the wamp/l
