Hi accidentally deleted my wampserver when I was doing a cleanup on my PC I reinstalled it not a problem, but when I try to login on localhost to use my worpress site it just keeps taking me round in a loop. The problem may well be word press not sure but could it please be verified. Thank you.

My wampserver is most perculiar. One day it will work ok then it will not. When it does it is always green when it doesn't then it is amber. .at the moment it is amber. I looked at the youtube answers as well.

I see from many posts on this forum that lots of people are getting the same problem inasmuch as their wampsever is not connecting correctly. I also see that the answer always seems to lead towards changing from port 80 to port 8080, normally with a small indication as to how to do it , but sadly not without explaing how you reach the path to do these changes. It worked absolutley fine all day yesterday. This morning it goes to amber and that is as far as it will go. On Checking each of the settings it looks like it is the Apache part that is the problem. If i open IE or Firefox and put in i get into it ok the same with 127.0.0.1 if i add wordpress i then get a 404 so i think wamp is now ok but i have a problem with wordpress. Thank you for the help and advice. Brian

Well it all seems to be working now, i had to click on the apache install service, it has now started to work, mind you i have installed wordpress back on and cannot access that I get into localhost ok bthen click wordpress and get a 404 so i'll have to see if i can find out what is going on there. Getting to old for all this.

Thank you for the reply. The Icon is showing green, and shows as offline, if i click start all services, it changes to amber, then red, then back to green but still cannot connect to localhost. Stll shows as offline.

I had wordpress installed on my wampserver. I wanted to do a clean re build so i removed it. But i now cannot get back in to . I have tried uninstalling wampserver and reinstalling it, with exactly the same situation. any suggestions as to what is wrong please? I am running windows 7 as my OS Thank you Brian

Have just had a read of some of the other articles on the Forum, they all metion about not having Skype running, so I quit mine and then it was all ok. So Problem Sorted
