Wampserver is now running on my computer! Not sure which of the following that I did made the difference: created a inbound rule in my internet security for Port 80 pinged port 80 and computer could not find port 80 (did this multiple times) checked internet security software to make sure Port 80 was open uninstalled and reinstalled Wampserver software (I suspect this was the thing that work

Additional information for this problem. When I try to restart just Apache I get the same error message. Also, when I test Port 80, I get the command panel with a message that port 80 is not being used.

I have installed Wampserver 2.5 and run the VC11 files (both x64 and x86). Tried to run the Vcredist_IA64 file but got errors saying not compatible with my machine. Can't take Wampserver online. What you suggest was the problem I was facing. It would not take my password, and gave me the 1133 error message. I fixed that by changing the $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'cookies'; to 'config' in the config.inc.php file. I just downloaded the most recent version of WAMP server. I am in the phpMyAdmin page, and am trying to set/change my password. The only way I could get into this page from the localhost opening page is by clicking on the phpMyAdmin link, then setting a user name, and leaving the password line blank. I just installed WAMP and the icon is orange. I get the same error message from Aestan Tray Menu, and WAMP SERVER is offline. I also am a beginner. What is the problem? I am using Windows Vista operating system, and Google Chrome browser. Thanks, Kate
