Thanks Steve, but here are my findings: + We are trying to connect to **MS** sql rather than **MySQL** + All the **MySQL** addons are for older versions anyhow. + I am trying to connect to a remote server, so does it matter whether I have SQL Server installed as a service in my localhost stack?

I like your thinking. It just dawned on me, though, that that's MySQL, not MSSQL Additionally, I am trying to connect to SQLSRV on remote machine. Do you think adding the MS db as a local service might help in some way/shape/form?

Good info, thanks. After digging into that and doing some poking and prodding, it turns out that they (apparently) still do not have a 64bit driver. (if anyone finds otherwise, please advise) Soooo ... I guess I'm back to trying to migrate my env. Any tips/pointers on how best to do that?

I've been avoiding the issue for a while, but I can no longer skirt around not being able to access the MS SQL Server from my WAMP env I downloaded the latest drivers from MS, dropped them in the ext dir, added them to the php.ini's, and ... no-go. Based on the posts and comments I'm finding on the topic, it seems that the issue is that I have a 64bit version of WAMPSERVER, but the SQLSRV dr

As a summary ... like most computer problems this ended up being a PEBKAC issue. It was simply a matter of version-(in)appropriate aliases. I copied/pasted my aliases over from my old HDD (including pasting over the default conf for PMA). They used all that Allow/Deny stuff. Steve quickly replaced that with the appropriate "Require Local" syntax, and Bingo.

@stevenMartin99, could you provide a few additional details for your solution here? For starters, you suggest "disabling it". Presuming that "it" is the mpm_winnt module, I checked for that module, and, nothing. That module was not installed with my WampServer, let alone enabled. I'm presuming this is fine since I would be disabling it anyhow. Let me know whether I'm on t

I'm unsure as to which problems were causing which of my problems, but Steven fixed two things. The first was an artifact in my http.conf from following one suggestion to change the "Listen 80" line to .. umm .. something else. (don't remember exaclty .. i THINK it was something like "Listen localhost:8080" .. whatever it was it DIDNT work, and I forgot to revert it ) St

Am I understanding correctly that you are saying that WAMP blocks alias control to something like [192.168.0.72] ?? I could have SWORN I used aliases to grant/deny access from specific machines machines on the LAN.

And IF you happen to be using aliases (\wamp\alias) for your project, that's another access control point.

My WAMP installation WAS working great. The other day, that suddenly changed. I can't THINK of any changes I might have made to the computer ... so no initial suspects. I had to fiddle with it a bit, but at least I'm now able to get the WAMP icon to the "yellow" status without a bunch of errors. But that's where it stops ... no access to My Apache error log has NO entries for

I'm trying to install TheBugGenie, and it's throwing an error on my PCRE version (version 7.9 2009-04-11). A min version of PCRE 8.0 is required. The TBG group suggests I ask here, so ... where do I go from here? ~ Mo NOTE: My WAMP stack has Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.3.1, MySQL 5.1.36.

My little wamp gauge is at the Yellow stage. This started on Friday. When I came in to the office, my machine had apparently restarted itself from the night before (unfortunately, I didn't catch whether it was due to an error or system updates). After relogging in, everything seemed fine except for WAMP. I took a look at the logs, but everything seems good there (to my novice eyes at least
