Hi Steven, Yes please! I'm around all day today, then it may be tricky as I'm away abroad for work until Tuesday morning. Interesting fact: I was checking one of my online test sites (where I put stuff online for customers, straight from my local set up) and one of the photos was linked to the local site <img src="walberton.loc/images/image.jpg" /> rather than the live site

Hello yfastud and Steve, Have installed a new WP local site and I'm afraid I'm getting the same error. So it CAN connect to my database which means my username and password is working, it just cannot select the database... yfastud: I cannot use your guide for moving WP, because I always start off on my local machine before I put it online, and can also not log in to my dashboard on my local

Hi Steven, No have not tried setting up a new localhost yet, not had time since this morning :-) I currently have 11 local sites set up, but to be fair, they were all running before I got the error, so maybe I ought to try set a new one up. Have you got any idea? Marjolijn

Hello all, I thought I posted a message on here last week, but as it happens, I was in Paris and it automatically posted it in the French forum! So I've posted it here now - no idea how to close it in the French one though.. Hi Steven, Thank for your offer to help, I've managed to do it, all sites are now working on yoursitename.loc BUT the only thing that doesn't work is the 'Your Projects' links on WAMP Server Home Page do not link to the .loc but the 'old' link. The one you set up for me originally goes to the 'old' link but re-directs somehow to the new .loc so I must have missed something. I followed ALL th

oh does it? yes you did help me set it up, but i didn't realize it was for the purpose of the folder being the root, I thought it was just to get the multi site working. As my other sites were working already so I didn't bother changing the settings for them as i didnt want to mess it up.. But as I am now syncing them I realize the root problem.. So what you are saying is that all I have to d

how can i get wamp subfolders to act as the individual roots so I can use relative paths on local server for it to work on live server without modifications? I have successfully installed several local sites and successfully transferred them to a live site. However, on the local sites i cannot use relative paths, it will give me an error. for instance, I have a subfolder foo, on one of the pa

stevenmartin99 had a another look at my setup with teamviewer and made it work! Still using the set-up I described above in my first post, with the imported database of the live site, he changed this: wp-config file: --------------- define('WP_HOME', 'http://driverszone.loc' ); define('WP_SITEURL', 'http://driverszone.loc'); define( 'DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'driverszone.loc' );

Hi Steven, Thanks again for all your help via teanviewer. I will look into it a little more in the morning, but there do seem to be some issues with installing a wordpress multisite on WAMP and it is not as straightforward. I've read in some forums already about the localhost.localdomain instead of localhost/localdomain, so you were on the right track, changing that! Whilst I was at work, I m

I wanted to make sure I tried everything, before I started bugging people What would you need from me to enable you to look at it with teamviewer? I don't know where else the domain would be referenced, apart from siteurl and home in the database... Thanks for wanting to help

Hello everyone, I have recently started using WAMP to see if I can get along with it and update my blog from a local environment instead of live, which would be a lot easier for me, especially considering I do a lot of flying for work, which currently eats into valuable time for updating my blog or updating clients' websites. I use wordpress for my blog and all other sites and found a good
