It's been a long time since I've tried to turn on my wamp server. I'm getting this error message: The configuration file contains a syntax error on line 3: could not load the file "images_off.bmp" specified in the directive "Image List" . If I uninstall wamp from the control panel, will that be enough? I'll reinstall a new download. I'm having a hard time loading htm

I've downloaded the wamp server and it's online. I'm trying to install Joomla. At page 4 I'm told"Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL" Shut down and came back another day. Same thing. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Had trouble with the Asetan tray a couple weeks ago. There was a virus and I've upgraded to Windows 7. I'm still not able to do any PHP work.

Last week I needed to have my hard drive reformatted so downloaded WAMP last night and tried to do my tutorials. When I loaded the first page this is the url: file:///C:/wamp/www/after/firstlast.html When I click the link, this is the url: file:///C:/wamp/www/after/firstlast.php?firstname=Kevin&lastname=Yank and the page is blank, like the link doesn't work. I've deleted all the programs you suggested, restarted my computer and the Aestan tray is still encountering problems and needs to close. I really appreciate the time Steven spent this morning. Am I doomed to never learn PHP? This is just awful. Kath

Hi, I've done as you suggested. Couldn't find Windows components in the Add/Remove programs. Ran a search for Internet Information Services: "no results to display" in the end. Found the drivers\hosts file and deleted everything but 127.0.0.1 I deleted Skype last week. The Aestan tray still is unavailable. In reading the forum it said I should only have one my.ini file.

Hi Steve, Thank you for the offer. Skype is off my computer and according to the virus scanner, there was a virus attached to it. The Aestan tray still won't open. How and when should we get together to use teamviewer? I have some screen shots of some stuff I've tried, if you want to see them. Thanks, I really look forward to getting this straightened out. I have uploaded, downloaded unofficial versions. I just am at a loss. I put in 127.0.0 localhost on installation. Still the astean tray is unavailable. It's just not happening for me. this has been going on for two days.
