I have problems with the localhost installation. So I downloaded and installed wamp. Then i opened www folder and put the whole wordpress in it. I run localhost / wordpress and got this error: Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

I've downloaded a PHP app and installed it to my localhost WAMP server. All of the PHP code within the app begins with <? instead of <?php. As such, the scripts are not executing on my local WAMP. When I upload the files to my hosted environment, however, the scripts (<?) do execute properly. Is there a way to configure my local WAMP server so that it will execute PHP code regardless of
