Forget I asked, after checking the server log I found out that there was a htaaccess file from the hosted server I have was in the main directory once I removed it no problem

no, I just used what was installed on the server, found a post topic on here that had a reply point at this issue, so followed your advice from that and looked at the comments for the guide and it was written in there the comment the include in the HTTPD.CONF file and everything worked, I can now turn on php_openssl and the ssl sorks fine, the server responds to https everything is working fine b

was there a reason you HAD to change to port 8080? cause I run wamp in win7 and have no issues, I changed the router I am using to port 81 so I could have people access my server without hassle but no other issues related to access. and everything ran fine. PHPmyAdmin, Server1 through to server 7. just trying to install certain apps now. Shaggy

not to worry I manged to get it all working, I had to go into the sys32 file and copy 3 files over to the directory that I was running installer.bat and got it working. now PHP - CGI/Perl works fine. thank you next question an application I am using on my server requires cURL, any idea on how to install that into wamp? with my delings with MANY MANY ISP's I found that not one of them support information on routing, and forwarding, your best choice would be to contact the maker of your router. then again it might just be the crappy hosts of australia. I changed my router to port 81 and forwarded port 80 to my the server, all works fine for me, maybe try that. when I type in my routers address into Firefox it automaticly forward to port 81 and shows router setup.
