When I keep tapping f8 the only thing that keeps coming up is a blue background covering the screen with two gears in the middle. When I click or try to do anything it brings it out of that view. Is there another button I should press that would restart my pc in safe mode? I clicked control panel and looked at accounts and it just shows one login with my name and the admin type shown undern

I should be logged in as an admin with full privaleges (there's only one login to my computer. When I right click the hosts file under etc folder the only "open" option I see is just "open" which is with notepad. When i try to save it from notepad it says "Cannot create the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct."

So I copied the hosts file to desktop, but when I edit the file and try to save it to the actual hosts file It won't let me overwrite it. I used notepad to edit - is that the best way? Can you only save it as a txt file in notepad?

I'm sure this question has been answered many different times, but I looked through many threads and tried different things and can't seem to solve this issue. When I try to open up localhost or phpMyAdmin from the WAMPSERVER icon, the cannot display webpage comes up. I looked at 'hosts' in the etc. folder but I cannot edit it and it doesn't show 127.0.0.1. I'm not really sure what to do now...
