yes got it working, i did everything you said but the problem the last time was a clicked the go button at the bottom of the page not at the password part thanks very much Steven Martin

i did everything you said but still the same story how bad is it to have no password?

i did set a password in config.inc.php , it still didnt work, then i noticed that underneath this is a line: $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = true; i changed it to false but it still didnt work, the only way i can get in is to have no password but that can be insecure as i am told any ideas on it now??

i took away my password and then when i hit enter it works fine does this mean i cant use a password?

I have my password set for the mysql console any then when i enter my password into it, the console just closes down any ideas on why?? thanks in advance
