Hi yfastud, I uninstalled skype, and I don't zonealarm or any other firewall on. Still have problem unchecking read only on folders under www. hummm... Any other suggestions? Thanks. Paul

Hello, Thanks for the fast reply. I turn off the Windows default firewall, and I don't have any anti virus software installed. I once installed Windows SQLserver express, but I unintalled that prior to WAMP. Can communication program, such as skype or webex, cause the problem? Any idea of what other type of software might pose the problem here? Thanks again for your help...Paul

I seem to have the similar problem. I've tried to uncheck read-only attribute on files within www directory. Vista processed the request. But the folder is still read only...any idea why? please help!! I'm stuck...Thanks. Paul
