Thanks, That fixed the problem completely. Thanks for the quick reply. It's worth mentioning that the MySQL 5 command line is slightly different than previous versions: mysql -u username -p databasename and you are prompted seperately for a hidden password Cheers!

Hello, Just installed the latest WAMP. I want to manually set up databases, change root password, etc. I'm used to doing command lines to mysql, but am getting: E:\wamp\mysql\bin>mysql -u root -p Enter password: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: N O) E:\wamp\mysql\bin>mysql -u root ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
