Actually your reply gave me the hope that it is possible to send emails from wamp server but I was not able to do so using my free hotmail,yahoo. and gmail accounts. However, I did it after instaling the free trial of this program: It works as a local smtp server allowing me to send emails from port 25 and localhost . I am now learning how to send htm

Hi every body. I am just wondering if it is possible to send emails with the php function mail() using the wamp5 localhost to my hotmail account , for example ?! If I can , what are the php ini settings that I should use and should I put my server online to be able to send emails ?! Any help is really appreciated.

yfastud and CyberSpatium, thank you very much for making it clear. The problem now is that I have installed a new version of Wamp that has php5 not php4. I only have the following file : c:\wamp\php\go-pear.phar , I do not have a file called go-pear.bat. I tried to change the extension but this did not work. Any idea about how to get the .bat file or about how to use the .phar file ??

Thank you yfastud for your help but it seems that I didn't understand you quite well. Do you mean that i have to install php4 instead of php5 in my Wampserver ? Or do you mean that there is a folder called php4 where I can find pears bundle that I can install ? I tried to find such a folder but I failed. I just found a folder called pear inseide php folder . That folder just contains the go-pear.

Are your Wamp server turned on ?? You can launch both apache and mysql servers by clicking: start > programs > WampServer > start Wampserver . Then an icon will appear down in the notification area where wuo can see links for all the files you need to work with. I hope this will solve the problem.

Hi all, I am also facing the same problem that onemind was facing but I didn't find the file go-pear.bat. Rather, I found a file called go-pear.phar which I have no idea on how to use. I tried to install pear by saving this url: as go-pear.php in the www directory. I tried to run that file to install the pear pakage but the installtion process always fails. Any idea or hint would be really ap
