localhost inaccessible on Vista Solution: 1. If you are running Skype, make sure to change the port option in Advance tab (not to use port 80). 2. If you are using firefox as default browser, type about:config in the url tab, search for "browser.fixup.alternate.enabled" and make it false. 3. Since Vista access localhost via IPv6 as default, we have to remove the localhost mapping
