Thank you, yes I know they use Linux/Apache on live host but I meant I was not using it locally. I had the password created also locally and did the same on the live host. What I am not sure of is the path in the php script. What should the path be? I have no idea especially that I think from the error I am getting it can see the database but is unable to login using that password. The path is pr

Hello again. I have a question again: when I imported my db into the hosting service server and created the same user name and password, then in trying to connect from the php page I created it is giving me this error: Warning: mysql_pconnect() : Access denied for user 'may'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/va/public_html/Connections/dbnorthwind.php on line 9

puurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect. It worked. So the point is, I just have to create a new user and password and create the name of the new database and THEN import!! wow!! facinating!! Thank you so much. Now I am happy. I wasn't able to sleep last night because I was unable to get this to work. So... you made my day!!

Ah. I can check. But the point is that even when I delete the db locally and try and upload it again from the .sql file which was created by the same phpmyadmin it still does not show up.. and in fact gives the error about not finding the db. Nevertheless, locally it is STILL giving me an error.. so is it really a question of version?

Hello everyone. I am trying to export my db from phpmyadmin in order to import it into the remote server . I export and check all the checkboxes on the right and it exports as a .sql file. So far so good. I then import the file on the hosting server's phpmyadmin. This is what I get: Files successfully imported, 35 queries were successful . But then I don't see the database at all.
