As I said, we can't access it remotely. You have to launch it only on the server.
The only thing you can configure is the path in alias/phpmyadmin.conf and public access to this alias.
For security reasons, you should not modify remote access.
But please can you test on your server using 'http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin/', as available in wamp menu, and tell us if it works. Forum: WampServer English
???
Did you download a new phpmyadmin version ?
You extract it in wamp/apps folder, rename the folder if you want and use this folder name in alias/phpmyadmin.conf file.
Also, you hide you url, but it seems that you are trying to use a url to open phpmyadmin.
Problem is that only localhost (or 127.0.0.1) is allowed to open phpmyadmin, for security reasons...
You can't use it remotely by Forum: WampServer English
I don't use xampp so I can't compare
But wamp gives you a menu in the system tray which allow you to do common actions like open Apache/PHP/Mysql conf files, active/unactive a module or an extension, open the logs, etc.
And I have developed a patch to add functionnalities to this menu
I don't know if you can easily switch between PHP versions for example in Xampp.
Try to use Wamp, and Forum: WampServer English
Yep.
As Xampp is also a webserver, you have to uninstall it.
Then delete any php.ini and mysql.ini files which are not in wamp folder to avoid conflicts.
Your icon should be fully white in order to work.

I think his mysql server is version 4 and so phpMyAdmin can't use an old method connection to access this server.
If it's that, I suggest you to download a compatible version of phpMyAdmin with older mysql version.
Then, put it in wamp/apps folder and modify alias/phpmyadmin.conf
Also modify your phpmyadmin/config.inc.php file to fit your current configuration (root password for example) Forum: WampServer English
Hum. I suggest you to comment the "include vhosts file" in Apache configuration, to get a working environment.
Then, you download my patch and install testApacheConfFile component.
Then you would be able to test Apache configuration and it would point to you which line does not work (file and line number).
Ask me if you have any problem. Forum: WampServer English
Yep. Thank you for pointing this "bug".
In fact, I read Listen value in Apache configuration to adapt my installation automatically and so you don't have to change it back before it works. (I know it failed for you )
In your case, you also used an ip in Listen configuration, and so, this configuration was taken.
I didn't think about it before..

Or you were not connected to Internet and your browser was in Offline mode.
In offline mode, it uses the cache and do not try to query it again.
It happened to me and I had a long time before finding where it came ! Forum: WampServer English

Hum.. what is your problem ?
What happens if you try to start Apache service ?
Is your wamp icon white or yellow ?
Then check your hosts file (windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts without extension).
It should only contain line

And what about the first part of the answer ?
Also make sure this is not a security feature of your website (.htaccess or ip server check).
Anyway, you should not have to enter a password. Forum: WampServer English
Probably you have IIS installed too.
If you don't need it/know it, then you can uninstall it from Control Panel -> Add/remove programs -> Manage Windows components and untick content publication service (IIS).
Then restart your computer to take this into account.
Another question : Did you change Apache port in Wamp ? Forum: WampServer English
I can't explain, because it should have crash Wamp application with a wrong wampmanager.ini file.
Surely you corrected this file too and that's why it worked directly... Forum: WampServer English
No, I told you that I don't think it's possible to map as you want.
But now, if you try to open localhost from wamp menu, it works and open 'http://localhost:8080/'.
Previously, it failed because port was not added automatically to the url. Forum: WampServer English
Forum: WampServer Francais
I don't think that you can map like this because localhost redirect to another service.
But you can use my patch to change Apache port directly from the menu, and which automatically refresh "localhost" action in wamp menu.
Tell me what you think about this patch Forum: WampServer English
As tu accès à 'http://localhost/index.php' ?
As tu accès à 'http://127.0.0.1/index.php' ?
As tu accès à 'http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin/' ?
