WampServer

Hello!

I've a (fairly) fresh install of Windows 8 -- had it for maybe a week now. I've just installed WAMP today, and I'm having issues with getting it running. I've successfully installed WAMP on XP and Windows 7 previously, so... I assume it's not something I'm forgetting about the installation process, haha.

Basically the icon remains orange. When I hover over it, it tells me that the server is Online, but I can't access anything through localhost and whatnot. I ran wampmanager > Apache > Service > Test Port 80, and it tells me that port 80 isn't being used by anything. All services are started -- the only options they give me are to stop services. I'm pretty new to this stuff, so I'm at a loss as to where to go from here. Any direction would be appreciated!

odd to not have something using port 80 and yet it wont start , ,, provided you followed the instructions on
the download page and installed the c++ 2010 redis?

Ah, sorry I didn't see this sooner! What I installed was the 64 Bit version with PHP 5.3 as seen on the main page. Never had a problem with the downloads provided on the front page, so.

I'd like to teamview, if you're still interested. Just let me know when is good for you; hopefully I'll see it in time.

We connected and sorted out the issue; turns out that Apache wasn't installed due to me not having the Microsoft C++ 2012 redis installed because I'm stupid, haha. Thanks a bunch, Steven! I really appreciate it!!
