WampServer

In Windows 7, the WAMP tool in the system tray cannot start Apache.

If I try to start wampapache using services,msc, I receive the following error:

Windows could not start the wampapache on Local Computer. For more information, review the system event log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 1

I am not running Skype, and nothing is using port 80. WAMP tells me this in WAMP > Apache > Service > Test Port 80.

How can I resolve this? Thanks.

Look in the system event log and if you cannot see the problem post the relevant info here.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer

I am guessing a bit here but have you installed or checked that these dll's are installed?


Required for wampserver

For Windows 32 : Be sure that you have installed the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x86
: VC10 SP1 vcredist_x86.exe >>[www.microsoft.com]


For Windows 64 : Be sure that you have installed the Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x64
: VC10 SP1 vcredist_x64.exe >>[www.microsoft.com]



And also, required for Apache

( VC++ 2008 Must also be installed as the WampServer menu uses libraries from - it should be installed by default in most versions of Windows , just check Add/Remove programs to see if its listed)

It was already installed, but I repaired it, and the issue remains.

I've rebooted and both WAMP and Sugar CRM are running concurrently.
