Hi,
I''m having the same trouble. But, search and finally found can fix:
You must search file: "c:/wamp/bin/mysql/mysql5.5.24/./my.ini"

and change default port 3306 for 80. (lines 20 & 27, in both)

Example: port = 80

Regards!

Not so many people are having this problem actually and I definitely won't be telling them your solution!!!

You can't change mysql to run on port 80!!!

I think you were reading some posts and got muddled up.

If this did solve your problem(temporarily I'm sure) then the problem is you already have another mysql installed.

Remove it and put wamps mysql back on port 3306.

Until your wamp icon is green, you still have problems

Thanks Steven,

I'm back to port 3306, and after this, set password to user root, and now, is working fine.

But, I'm not have previous MySQL in this machine. I'm thinking that other application use this port. I'm disable this app, reboot and now the issue is solved. Again, thanks!

Regards.

Hi
I have encountered the same problem today. I had WAMP installed and it was running perfectly. Then today for no reason the following message appeared.

2002 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).

The icon is green and I can access mysql from the command line. However I cannot get access through myphpadmin.

Can you help?
Thanks in advance
Aoileann

Go to your direction where you installed wamp. Open "bin" folder, then open "mysql" , open "mysql5.5.24" folder, and then you will seen folder called "my" and delete that folder.
Left click on wamp icon and Restart all services.
That's all. Now it should be green.
