I upgraded to the new version. I get the green icon when WinAmp starts, but win I click on the PHP Admin button I get an error from SQL. Here is the error I get saying something like access denied.:

Error

MySQL said: Documentation
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
Open new phpMyAdmin window

Can someone please help me with this? It was working fine until I upgraded.
Thank you
Rcla396

I was looking at the PHP.ini coding to update so the current edition of WAMP 2.2 can be used for production. I noted the folders or ini files were within WAMP, but within the various coding, Production is "OFF" and Developer is "ON". I prefer PHP.ini Recommend because it is more secure and can be used for production after the development on LocalHost is completed. Are there any coded formulae at WAMP for production purposes; is the "Put On Line" feature of WAMP the way to go (meaning PHP.ini is preprogramed for production purposes when it is time?)

I really like this product's useability and the features that are preloaded, but I need these capabilities eventually. I am new to all of this, and any info would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, we figured it out...

Looks like LONGs in C/Windows are 32-bit (even in 64-bit CPUs) but in Linux they are 64-bit, and PHP uses those in its code for the main "integer" data type.

For now I suppose I will have to be content with having PHP switch to using floats for numbers larger than 2^31, since it should be fully precise to about 2^52 or so.

It is a bug but unfortunately I cannot fix it. And it is very unlikely that the php developers will fix it since this is not an official build and there are no official 64 bit builds for Windows.

If you really need to use such large numbers, right now your only choice is to use linux.

Yes the addons for this don't work any better than the official release of WampServer. I downloaded the 32-bit version, Installed the addon for PHP 5.2.11 and hit the start all services button.... and waited.... and waited.... and nothing happened.... and well, the server never came on line. The addon for PHP 5.2.11 said you need apache >= 1.3.0. The default for this was Apache 2.2.17 which is > 1.3.0 so that should work right? I switched back to PHP 5.3.3 and again hit the start all services button.. waited... waited... again nothing. Wouldn't even work with the default configuration. sigh.... WampServer is NOT any fun to use. I have been trying for the better part of a week now to get some version of WampServer to work with no avail. The only version I have gotten to work was the out of the box official version. But unfortunetely I need PHP 5.2.X, which installing that addon in the official release breaks WampServer.

My PHP is not working anymore, although it worked perfect a month ago (I did not use it last month).
Now, the icon is green, I can open localhost and phpinfo(), but any php file is not executed.
I am using the same tools as one month ago when it worked (NotePad++, Chrome, IE, Firefox).

I tried unchecking the setting for port 80 in Skype.

In the last month, I did install new software, like Bluestacks Android simulator. Do you think that might be the problem?

I have TeamViewer, which probably was also updated to a newer version recently.

Very frustrating, no errors, everything is reported fine by WAMPserver, but cannot use PHP.

Any ideas? Thank you!

The localhost and phpinfo actions both use PHP, so php is working if these screen show the usual info.

If the icon is green then Apache and mysql are running! Thats good.

Are you running some script that you did not write??
Does it have <? ... ?> tags rather than <?php ... ?>

If it does you need to tell php to expect short tags.

Edit php.ini ( using the wampmanager menus )
Look for this parameter -
short_open_tag = Off

and set it to

short_open_tag = On

Thank you for answering, but it is not that simple, tags are fine.
They are the same scripts I used a month ago and worked, the problem is not with the scripts but with the server I think.

Anyone has any ideas? This is incredibly frustrating. It would probably work if I will reinstall Windows but I am trying to avoid that.

No solution ?
My PHP is still not working, although phpInfo works and the icon is green.

I just installed Win7 x64 again, fresh install of x64 WAMP, and the same problem!
Something must be wrong, as I get the same thing on 3 computers.
