is the "wamp server patch" included in this unofficial release? or does that need to be installed after installing this?

hey, ok... well I'm not sure why I had to do this, but I'm on Win7 x64 ult. and I could NOT get phpmyadmin to load, I read through multiple other threads trying to figure out why. none of the things mentioned worked for me. The only way I could get phpmyadmin to load was to stop all services, download mysql x64 from mysql.com, install it to the exact same wamp path and then configure it (part of the setup process). then I edited the config.inc.php to reflect the password I used during setup. now everything is working fine. so I don't know, maybe needs to be separate version of this for x64 users... because it seemed like the service never installed properly until I manually dowloaded and installed mysql.

I greatly appreciate this unofficial updated build and will donate as soon as I can!

thanks!

No .the reason the hosts file needs to be edited is because of the mysqlnd driver?

can you paste up the hosts file? and the error?

if you where gtting a blank page- try delete history- make sure mysql in wamp is running when trying this

thank you

you want me to uninstall everything and reboot then reinstall just the wamp and see if I can get it working without manually installing mysql? I can do that if you need me to, but as it is right now, I have managed to get it working...

ok, only one request... that you could maybe make a "static" link for the latest build, so that this can be submitted to pages like allmyapps.com and freenew.net

link could look like:
[sourceforge.net]

no because.. i am not changing the name of this build...

i have updated it twice already.. WampServer2.0J is "an uptodate version"

if i allowed it be placed on other sites , i have no control over this..

So who ever downloads UNOFFICIAL WAMPSERVER 2.0 UPDATE will get the most uptodate version available.

Not just the version on some download site.

Its not the best solution- but its the only one that works for this purposesmiling smiley

no,what I was suggesting aren't typical download sites... it wouldn't be hosted on this site, what people do on these two sites, is choose from a list of programs they want installed, the download/install program is installed on the clients machine, then when they log in... if they've just updated/format-reinstalled windows... they just log in and choose download/install and it downloads the latest version of each app in their profile list that is available... this way they only have to go to one place instead of 50+ different sites. the program also checks to see if they've already installed any of the apps in their list and if there are any updates available... kind of a nice feature for those who like to format often =)

I just thought it would be a way for this "unofficially" updated app to get some more recognition =)

edit: my apologies, I didn't mean to thread jack... just would like to see this get the attention it deserves is all =)

edit2: I tried what you said, with the same results as before, the mysql service wouldn't install. even with the firewall completely disabled. so for me, installing mysql manually is only way for phpmyadmin to be functional.

Just installed the unofficial build and looks to work fine.

I need to load the exif extension as I got some php scripts that needs it. So I go to PHP->PHP Extensions and check mark "php_exif" but after restarting the extension isn't loaded. in ?phpinfo=1 there is no mention of exif what so ever.

Any help?

/Thomas

in php.ini, make sure to load mbstring before exif, for example

extension=php_mbstring.dll
extension=php_exif.dll

Hi -

I am running Windows 7 x64, and I have installed Unofficial_WampServer2.0j-64bit.exe. It all comes up, so far so good! Now, I am going to do some testing with Drupal 6.19, which will run on PHP 5.3, but the addon modules (which I want to utilize) are not qualified with PHP 5.3, and produce errors. I have installed PHP 5.2.11 from WampServer2-PHP5211.exe. When I then select PHP 5.2.11, Apache will not start. I look in the event log, I see that Apache won't start due to an error in php5ts.dll:

Faulting application name: httpd.exe, version: 2.2.16.0, time stamp: 0x4c5340fc
Faulting module name: php5ts.dll, version: 5.2.11.11, time stamp: 0x4ab130e3
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000f330d

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike
