WampServer

I installed WAMP Server. When I click on start WampServer a Pop up window came up, said: "Aestan Tray Menu has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. if you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost"

I have read that the reason can be Skype as it could use the same port, but I uncheck "use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections" but the problem still exists.

I installed the right version of WAMP(32 bit ).

Make sure no other program conflict Wamp such as IIS, Microsoft Web Deploy, Web Deployment Agent Service, SQL, Skype, Zonealarm, firewall/antivirus, NOD32, Eset, any web related program including Remote Desktop, Teamviewer or Apache, MySQL, PHP outside wamp folder (ie. in Program Files or System32 folder) ...

IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista/W7:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc, open file hosts and delete anything in this file and have only this line below and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost

If using Skype, open Skype > Tools > Options > Advanced > Connection then uncheck "use port 80..." restart Wamp then Skype

Everything is unchecked. I checked even which programs are using port 80. Port 80 is open. My OS is XP SP3. The problem still exists.

Try this: open file httpd.conf through wamp tray icon and find:

listen 80

Replace with:

listen 8181

In browser, use 'http://localhost:8181'
If it work, then probably your ISP block port 80

this isnt all of the ini file, your wamp has not started up so its not filled out

No teamviewer...

i was asking you to get teamviewer and i will take a look at the issue for you..


again this is not the entire wampmanager.ini fie because wamp has never started

I am getting the same error. I am running Windows XP in VMware Player.

IIS is not installed
Host file is correct

Not sure what is up, any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks, works for us )

I have the same problem but sorted out:

On window press ctl+alt+del
click on task manager
end process that is disturbing wamp from starting e.g skype

That's not sorting it out - that's avoiding the issue!!

I have downloaded wampserver2.2a-x64
Everything ws going fine just at the end of the install it asked if I wanted to start wampserver I got

Aestan Tray Menu Dialog box

Headlined

Aestan Tray Menu has stopped working

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem

Then two arrow buttons 1 check online and close
2 close the program
And a lower pane that shows problem signature APPCRASH app name wampmanager

Pressed check online and close and got Application error dialog box with message

Exception Exception in module wampmanager.exe at 000F 15A0.
Could not run action
the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more details

In the event viewer I get 4 events
