A new problem

Wampserver started to work a little after a week of hard work.
My index page had been online before so it should work but after fixing problem with setting pw in MySQL - now the Wampserver homepage is online instead of my indexpage.

I have my site in C:\wamp\www\mysite.com and it had been there all the time.

How come my localhost is online now?

Same thing using my ip over the net from other computer I get the localhost - HOW?

I have a site at webhotel and I run the same att home with dynDNS.

mysite.dyndns.com I access it fron outside and get the localhost.

It is very, very bad.

Millions people have milions different ideas and Wampserver's developer only put together Apache, Mysql, PHP so users can avoid the hassle to install each and all of them separately and then setup to make them work together, and thus Wampserver will not work the way you want unless you set it up

No matter within or outside LAN access, you need to setup Access, DNS, and VH; Access for permission to connect to your Wamp PC, DNS to tie Domain(s) to your Wamp PC, and VH to host multiple Domains/Websites/IP's and even you have only 1 Domain/IP, you should use VH to set it up w/ the site you want to show up first on top and localhost on bottom and others in middle if having more than 1 site; w/ VH, other PC's, no matter w/i or outside LAN, can access/see websites/contents on your wamp PC. If dont have real Domain, just skip DNS guide

To setup Access, follow this

To setup VH, follow this

I have set it all. Firewall, router, VH, DNS? = using ext. ip and dyndns
Maybe my ISP is blocking port 80. I dont think so.
I have tried to change to 8080 but cant find where to change this in server.
Firewall have 80, 8080 and HTTPS 443
In router Apache is set to port 80 and 443 as standard. The router is same brand as ISP Vodafone. As port 80 is standard it should not be blocked. Apache is preconfigurated. On post 80 and 443.
Router I have source and destination and start and end.
I am not sure how to set the router.
I cannot change source but destination is 8080 on both.
Better not change the preconfig I think. But I have tried it just to follow your guide.
My usual firewall - I think it will handle Apache without help from me but I am not sure.
Therefor I use Windows firewall temporary. Just to follow your guide.

Nothing works but I cant find where to set port in server.
I dont think it is a good idea to change it.

My site works on local machine as it was online. It appere to be online but it is not.
My site works on local network.

"you need to setup Access, DNS, and VH; This is your standard reply to every question".

Access is the settings in firewall and router, right?
DNS I use ip and dyndns for now. OK?
Virtual hosts set but I dont need it for only one site on my external ip. Right?

What more do I need to get [myip] online? (no name) in the most eeeeasiest way?
Plz a step by step guide. only my actual ext ip and a indexpage saying Hello.

I want the folder wamp/www/mysite online not the wamp/www folder with the wampserver homepage.

This package is installed now in 3 partions. Installed at least 7 times.
Maybe I should try to install it once more and follow your guide only for that I need to get one site online.
And leave everything else outside this until I get online.

I dont care what is included in package of Wampserver because the problem is that I follow your guide and it dont work.
The guide is your work. Not Wampserver, or Apache.
But it is a good work as I cant find any alternative guide. So, thanks.

To make things easier I excluded VH and use only one site. (or one page)
I also changed to Windows firewall to be sure about settings.
I have 2 http 80 / 8080 and HTTPS 443

What is the minimum of settings here if I reinstall once more?
I only need to setup firewall and router? (but it is done alredy) no DNS, no VH ?
I need only one folder with an index page saying Hello.
How difficult could it be?
No files need to be change in the wampserver package? Right?
It works right out the box?

Maybe I should dl a new copy of Wampserver too?
and Apache (only Apache) is using port 80 Test port 80 in menu.

Only Windows XP, sp3, Firefox, firewall (or AVG IS) dyndns updater (DNS) and the Wampserver package.

I have follow your guide far too many times now.
Support tell me to NOT FOLLOW your guide as my router is preconfigurated for Apache and MySQL but NOT for Wampserver. Preconfigured ports are 80, 343, and 3306.

I think I have found something.

PING MYIP wow its really fast
BUT
pinging any port will time out.
80, 8080, 343 https, and 3306 mysql all ports time out.

Well, forgot the firewall. Changing to Windows firewall but it is the same.

Server online but ports are not open.

Testing the ports at Shields up port 80 is open but not 343.
But I have only tried to use port 80 so far.
As port 80 really is open I will change it back in router to standard settings.

NOW, I have found that port 80 do reply but not with ping.
It is confirmed by Shields up that port 80 is open.
Checking settings in router 80 ok
ping myip very fast
ping myip:80 and time out

to be sure I will restart everything and check again.

FIRST I will try without firewall ...... TIME OUT

ping myip very fast even over openvpn its really fast.
ping port 80 time out.
Checking port 80, its open.

To everyone who need to check ports and other things [www.grc.com] Shields up.

Testing from dyndns with their open port tool.
77.211.167.13:80 is open and accepting connections. This indicates the port is not being blocked by either a firewall or your ISP and is currently operational.

This indicates that your network is available on this port, and that a server application is listening on this port and accepting incoming connections.

Wampserver work locally, it is running and online. I can view my site locally, no problems.
But ping port 80 still time out.

If the port is open, visitors should be able to connect without a problem. If the port is refused, you may need to check your port forwarding settings and make sure the server is running. If the port times out, something is blocking the connection on that port, and you will need to determine where and why the error is occurring.

YES, something is blocking but it is not my ISP, not the router and not the firewall and Wampserver is working. ... at least locally.

NEXT STEP ?? maybe something wrong with router? It is suspected really for several reasons.
OR Wampserver is the problem. Most people I have talked to are 100% sure. It is the Wampserver.

Your guide is a dream that something impossible really works?

Is Apache running on port 80?
is it working on http:/ /localhost?
Do you have a Dynamic or Static IP?
Have you tried connecting to the router from a completly different network?
Whats the exact make and model of the router?

please send screen shots of the setting you did in the router to my gmail address below

Is Apache running on port 80? it should be as I dont know how to change it. I only find service to test port 80 and it says that Apache is using port 80 (and no other appl)

is it working on http:/ /localhost? yes and by misstake, I have 3 computers in my network, all of them set to look for the site locallt before searching for it online. Therefore I thought my site was online and after reinstall it did not work. The truth is that it never had been online. ... as someting is blocking port 80 ... and therefore redirect to other port will not work. Port 80 is blocked before reaching firewall and router. ... something

Do you have a Dynamic or Static IP? dynamic and also dyndns dyndns always show my actual ip on the icon beside the clock. If I use openvpn I have two icons showing my actual ip.
In reality my ip is not changed if I disconnect. I got the same ip after restarting the router but as it is dynamic it can change. My ip is 90% static.

Have you tried connecting to the router from a completly different network? NO but I tested the ports from Shields up and from dyndns

Wait - I have a wireless modem - in that way I can test from outside. Its not the same ISP.
From a notebook and other ISP IT WORKS It seems to work its wireless, no connection to my network and a lot of things happen MYSQLD.exe want to go online probably login for https granted
WOW login script must work.
No credit left on prepaid modem. I must go to an internet cafe to check.

If it works now ... I have made no changes in firewall AVG IS all settings are standard. Automatic.

***** I will come back after visiting the internet cafe. *********

Whats the exact make and model of the router? Very good question. The make and my ISP is the same VODAFONE and router is preconfigurated for a lot of appl as Apache on port 80/443 and MySQL:3306

I cannot make any changes more than forwarding port 80 and support told me to not do that.

Many thanks.
Very surpricingly I could registrer as new member, login, and even login as admin to maintain the database. and the script is not yet tested. Unbelivable. I am very happy. I have not yet restarted the system and that is a problem.
This site is the members area of a site on line. I use CNAME for a nonexisting subdomain to point at my dyndns name. This include the Wampserver into the ssl certificate so that I can use https for login.

But a lot of new problems. Now it does not work locally and I have not yet restarted everrything..

First thing I must do is to block port 80. Everything must be on port 443 (and maybe 3306 and some more.

I have a real ssl certificate but I have not used it yet.

Plz advice me how to block port 80 and enable port 443 in server.
Its done in router and I hope AVG is "automaic" as always.
I should only need to enable port 443 in Apache, port 3306 (mysql) I dont know.
I want to block port 80 everywere.

I have the option in router to only allow access to one computer and block access from outside to the others.
