I have installed net beans and then installed wampserver
the wampserver is not working properly and cant open localhost and phpmyadmin

Does NetBeans come with its own Apache and MySQL? Could it be that you have 2 Apache's and 2 MySQL's running. If so that wont work well without some tailoring?

I installed Wampserver 2.4 on Windows 7 just now. It was beyond frustrating for about 2 hours, then I finally browsed enough posts to figure it out.

My problem: I had the orange icon and the local host gave me nothing.

I did 2 things:

1.) I went to system 32/drivers/host and deleted the # in front of the ip address.
2.) Go to Apache > Service > Install Service. Hit enter. If there's an error, that's an important error. See this page by Steve Martin:

I followed that, installed Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package x64, restarted services. Green light. Everything works.

This worked: Disabling proxy settings on the browser.

I had the same problem till i finally discovered hoe to get rid of it.
Just follow the basic steps below:

1) click on the orange icon
2) after that click on apache
3) after clicking on apache click on services
4) after clicking on services click install service.

after doing all that your icon should change from orange to green.

note: this will only work if your port 80 has not been used by any other application.

I solved the following way: I changed the reserved port for wampserver from 80 to 8080. I clicked the wamp icon as right button and chose the "tools" option. I chose to change from 80 to 8080. Then the wamp icon turned green, indicating that it was working.

In addition, port 80 is reserved for the HTTP protocol, and replacing it with port 8080 is not the right solution.
It is necessary to find what occupies the port 80 and it is this "thing" that it is necessary not to occupy port 80, but another port.
