WampServer

I downloaded WAMP and installed on my local laptop running Vista home premium 64 bit.
Wamp installs fine and is white in my system tray but cant access localhost nor phpmyadmin wtc.

Browser window is just loadin loading.....

I also have Microsoft SQL 2008 server on my computer, it came with Visual basic lite developer thing they let you download for free..

anyways how would i resolve the problem? is WAMP compatible with MS SQL 2008?

No, it would conflict w/ Mysql comes w/ Wamp

IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista/W7:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc, open file hosts and delete anything in this file and have only this line below and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost

If using Skype, open Skype > Tools > Options > Advanced > Connection then uncheck "use port 80..." restart wamp then skype

I left only 127.0.0.1 localhost in hosts file and

I did completely uninstall the MS SQL servers...

What a waste of time and effort, still can't access localhost. Browsers just loading ...loading..loading

no progress, i tried clearing all browser data, tried IE, FF, Opera, Chrome.
the WAMP icon is white but localhost is loading endlessly.

i tried both localhost and 127.0.0.1
what could possibly be preventing browser accessing the localhost

either another web server such as IIS, Adobe server, xampp, easyphp... or firewall/antivirus such as NOD32, Eset, ZoneAlarm... or any web related programs such as Internet Optimizer, Internet Accelerator, Google Apps... or any browser add-on which would treat web server as harmful action to pc... I mean too many to list

I uninstalled Wamp ad installed Xamp....

Same problem. Apache running , mysql running but localhost is not available.

I disabled ZA and AVAST while testing. And thing is WAMP used to work before with all these AVs and firewalls. AS uch as I recall after i installed MS SQL 2008 along with the VB and C# developing tools frommicrosoft , problems started.

I uninstalled EVERYTHING, all SQLs and microsoft Dev programs, cleaned Registry files and lurking around APPLE iMacs web-store web page to replace windows alltogether ....
